You cannot opt out of our use of these cookies. 5. Processing of personal and other data by Wirecard when you visit our website

5.1 Information we automatically collect when you access our website

We collect your IP address when you visit our website in order to display our website in your language.

5.2 Disclosure of your personal data

Your personal data is only used for the purposes set out here and to the extent necessary to achieve these purposes. If it is disclosed, it is done in compliance with the statutory requirements.

Your anonymised IP address is transferred to MaxMind, Inc. in order to display our website in the correct language. To do this, your browser carries out an asynchronous HTTP request with the MaxMind API. Based on the IP address identified from the HTTP request metadata, MaxMind determines your country of origin and transfers this information back to your browser in its response to the HTTP request.

Personal data is only transferred to government institutions and authorities within the framework provided in binding, national regulations or if such disclosure is necessary for the investigation or prosecution of misuse or fraud. Any disclosure for other purposes – including for the purposes of address trading – does not take place.

5.3 Information about Web analytics tools

5.3.1 Google Tag Manager

This Wirecard website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a solution enabling marketing companies to manage website tags through a user interface. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-less domain and does not collect personal data. The tool causes the other tags described below to activate, and these cookies may then collect data as described below. Google Tag Manager does not access such data. If a deactivation has been put into effect at domain or cookie level, it will remain in effect for all tracking tags that are implemented with Google Tag Manager.

5.3.2 Google Analytics

This Wirecard website uses Google Analytics, a Web analytics service from Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of how you utilise this website. The information generated by the Google Analytics cookie about your usage of this website (including your IP address) is normally transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. Google Analytics on this website has had the code ‘gat._anonymizeIp():’ added to it to ensure that the IP addresses collected are anonymised (also known as IP masking). This means that Google truncates your IP address beforehand in EU member states or other member states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional circumstances is your full IP address transferred to a Google server in the United States and then truncated there.

Google uses this information to analyse how you use this Wirecard website, compile reports about the activities on the website for the site operators and perform additional services associated with usage of this website and the Internet in general. Further, Google may pass this data on to third parties if it is required to do so by law or if Google contracts third parties to be processors of this data. Under no circumstances does Google associate your IP address with other data held by Google.

You can stop cookies being stored by choosing the relevant settings in your browser, though you should be aware that you may not be able to use all of this website’s functions fully in this case. Moreover, you can stop Google from collecting and processing data about your use of this website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available through this link.

You can object to the collection of your data using Google Analytics by clicking on this link. This will set an opt-out cookie to prevent the collection of your data when you visit this website in future.

Further information about Google’s terms of service can be found here. Further information about Google’s privacy policy can be found here.

5.3.3 Google AdWords

We use the conversion-tracking function provided by Google AdWords. Google AdWords is an online advertising service provided by Google Inc. If you click on an advertisement displayed by Google, a conversion-tracking cookie will be stored on your computer/device. These cookies become invalid after thirty days and do not contain any personal data, which means they cannot be used to identify you. If you visit certain websites within this thirty-day period, Google will be able to see that you have clicked on the relevant advertisement and been redirected to our website. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided to utilise conversion tracking. These tell a Google AdWords customer the total number of users who have clicked on the customer’s advertisement and been redirected to its website. However, Google AdWords customers do not receive any information that could personally identify a user.

You can prevent cookies being stored using Google’s settings (‘Google Ad settings’) through this link. Furthermore, you can also use the deactivation options available from the Network Advertising Initiative through this link.

5.3.4 Google Remarketing

Furthermore, we also use the remarketing functions ‘Google Remarketing for Search’ and ‘Google Display Network Remarketing’ as part of our Google AdWords services. The remarketing reports are used within Google Analytics. Should you wish to opt out of this then please click on this link.

‘Google Remarketing for Search’ and ‘Google Display Network Remarketing’ display relevant ads that are tailored to you based on your visit of our website by storing a cookie on your computer. The cookie is used to record the following: ‘This person visited this page, so show them ads based on this page.’ It allows us to tailor our marketing to suit your needs better and only display ads that are relevant to you.

Google Analytics demographics: we use these reports in Google Analytics. They are pulled from the Google Display Network (third-party cookies). They cover age, interest groups and gender. We use this data for marketing reports and marketing information.

5.3.5 Facebook Custom Audience – use of the Pixel

This Wirecard website uses Facebook Custom Audience’s pixel function. The Facebook pixel is provided by the social network Facebook. Facebook is registered in Europe as Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.

The Facebook pixel is integrated into this Wirecard website with an ‘advanced-matching’ function. The pixel triggers Facebook into processing personal data and allows users to be identified via numerous websites through tracking. This tracking enables audience-based advertising.

The Facebook pixel stores a cookie – a tiny text file – on your device when you access our Wirecard website. If you are logged into Facebook at the same time or subsequently log into Facebook, your Facebook profile will note that you have visited this Wirecard website. Personal data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a match can be made with the relevant user profile and so that the data can be used for market research and advertising. The pixel and ‘advanced-matching’ function also collect data such as the names and email addresses of non-users of Facebook who are not logged into a Facebook account while visiting this Wirecard website.

To prevent this Wirecard website from collecting your personal data through the Facebook pixel, users can click on the following link.

Tracking via the Facebook pixel has been activated for this website. Please click here to deactivate the tracking.

Facebook processes the data in accordance with Facebook’s data policy.

Users can visit the Facebook help section for more information and details about the Facebook pixel and how it works.

5.3.7 Twitter pixel

This Wirecard website uses functions provided by Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States. Using the visitor action pixel, user actions can be tracked after a user has seen or clicked on a Twitter advertisement. This means they can track the effectiveness of Twitter advertisements on behalf of the Wirecard website for statistical and market research purposes. The data recorded using these methods is anonymous for this Wirecard website, which means that this Wirecard website does not collect any personal data on individual users. However, the data is stored and processed by Twitter, which we will inform you about here based on our knowledge. Twitter can link this data with your Twitter account and also use it for its own advertising in line with the Twitter privacy policy. You can allow Twitter and its partners to display advertisements on Twitter and outside of Twitter. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes.

Special information about conversion tracking and privacy settings for tailored advertising can be found here.

By using Twitter and the ‘retweet’ function, the websites you visit will be linked with your Twitter account and shared with other users. Data will also be transferred to Twitter as part of this.
